Our range of External Filters do vary is some ways but the following instructions should help identify where the impeller is situated and how to remove it;

  • Turn off the unit;

  • Using the side clips, unclip the head from the body of the unit;

  • Turn the head unit over to display a centre piece which has four spindles which can be twisted to open and display the impeller;

  • Remove the impeller and check the 'fan' piece rotates this should rotate half way and stop. If it can rotate completely 360° then this will need replacing.

In most cases impeller issues are caused due to debris or algae that wrap around the parts and restrict it from spinning quick enough therefore, reducing the flow. The impeller 'fan' piece should rotate half way and stop.
